New kings of the turntable

735

Can there really be a party without a Disc Jockey? Absolutely not. The role of a DJ at any event, concert or even club cannot be underrated. The guys (at times babes) manning the wheels of steel determine the mood of the party. Days are long gone when DJs earned mere peanuts. As artistes laugh all the way to the  bank, DJs are equally not left behind, making so much money doing what they know how to do best. Before now, grandmasters of the turntables had been DJ Jimmy Jatt, Humility, Neptune and a few others. But at the moment, new DJs have emerged to rock the show and their impact has been strongly felt in the entertainment circle. Saturday Beats brings you some of the disc jockeys making waves in Nigeria at the moment.

DJ Xclusive:

RotimiXclusiveAlakija, is not just a DJ but a producer and artiste. With an album in the pipeline, the DJ currently has several songs dominating the airwaves in collaboration with rave of the moment artistes like Timaya and Olamide. Xclusive started his career as a DJ in 2003 by performing at various night clubs. Saturday Beats learnt that the handsome DJ has performed with acts like Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Mario Winans, Brick and Lace, Nas, and Fat Joe. In 2011, DJ Xclusive became the resident DJ of Cool FM 96.9, a Lagos-based radio station and joined Empire Mates Entertainment as Wizkid’s official DJ.

DJ Caise:

This dark-skinned DJ has performed at some of UK and Nigeria’s most prestigious nightclubs and entertained a variety of audiences around the world. Caise has done tours with most of Nigerian A-list acts like Dbanj, P-Square, 2face, Naeto C, Lynxx, Sasha, Sauce kid and Donaeo, a UK-based artiste.

He has featured in the reality television show, Big Brother, several times.
